Policies/Considerations

  • There will be a short intake before the massage, and an outtake after, so please allow for an additional 5-10 minutes beyond your actual massage time.  A 60 minute massage is 60 minutes on the table, unlike more corporate massages.

  • Please arrive on time so that you can enjoy your full massage time.  This allows me to stay on time with my other clients.  If you are late, your time may be shortened. A call/text alerting me that you are running late is appreciated.

  • There is a 24 hour cancellation policy. The first session canceled within 24 hours will incur a fee of 1/2 of the session cost. Sessions beyond the first will incur the full cost of the session you booked.  I understand emergencies and sudden illness (especially if you have children), so in these cases just inform me as soon as you possibly can that you are unable to make your appointment, and we will reschedule.  I will do the same for you if an emergency/illness arises in my life.

  • I ask that you arrive clean and unscented if at all possible. Strong perfumes can cause headaches for me. All of my massage oils are organic and either unscented, or lightly scented, and linens are washed in organic, naturally-scented detergent.  Please alert me to any relevant allergies.

  • Please refrain from using intoxicants before your session- they may inhibit your ability to discern appropriate depth in your massage.  Circulation also increases greatly during a massage, and can intensify the affects of intoxicants in your body.  Intoxicants alter physical/mental awareness, which makes it difficult to decipher the affects of the bodywork.

  • I want you to feel safe and comfortable in your session, so therapeutic boundaries are always in place. Proper draping (coverage by sheets) is maintained.  If at any point you don't feel comfortable, please let me know.

  • It is not uncommon for emotional responses to occur during therapeutic bodywork.  My office is a safe container for whatever comes up during a session.

  • Your session is completely confidential.  In rare cases that a client speaks of harm to self or other, I reserve the right to contact the proper authorities.

  • I reserve the right to discontinue treatment for any reason if I feel it is not beneficial for you or me.
